TRANSPORT PLANNER
Leicester (Hybrid)
Permanent Staff Position

They are looking for a Transport Planner to join their established Transport Planning team based in Leicester, supporting their strong pipeline of varied work across the Midlands region.

The role

  • You will assist in preparing transport assessments, travel plans and other development related transport reports as well as parking studies and transport strategy reports.
  • You will be proactive in keeping up to date with current practices, guidelines etc. in the Transportation Planning field.
  • You will undertake site visits and attend meetings as required.
  • You will undertake your work with a high degree of diligence and quality in line with defined quality assurance processes.
  • You will be well organised and able to manage your time effectively to meet project deadlines.
Skills & Experience

Our client is looking for an ambitious and versatile individual with a genuine interest in transport consultancy. You will ideally be able to demonstrate:
  • Experience of helping to produce transport assessments, travel plans and other transport study reports.
  • Experience of analysing, collating and interpreting data.
  • Knowledge of highway design principles.
  • An ability to use AutoCAD and GIS software.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience of software packages such as TRICS and Junctions 9.
  • An understanding of the UK planning and transport processes and how your work fits into that

  • Methodical approach to problem solving and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce clear, precise and coherent analysis, reports and drawings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a skilled multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications

Degree or HND in a relevant subject (e.g. transport planning, civil engineering, geography)
Professional Accreditation, such as MCIHT, MTPS, MCILT
