Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our logistics team in bulk gases and cylinder gases nationwide from our Liverpool office. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimising transportation routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining effective communication with clients and suppliers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise management, organisational, and IT skills within a dynamic supply chain environment. The ideal applicant will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of logistics operations.

The working days are

Wednesday-Sunday,

8 hours/day.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and optimise driver routes and daily workloads Monitor transport operations to maintain efficiency and ensure on-time delivery Manage driver and vehicle schedules, updating plans in real time as needed Liaise professionally with drivers, customers, and internal teams Ensure full compliance with legal, safety, and company policies Support the Transport Manager with performance monitoring and KPI reporting Communicate effectively with drivers, site operations, and wider stakeholders Respond quickly to unplanned absences, vehicle issues, or operational changes by re-routing and adjusting plans to protect customer delivery windows

About You

Experience in transport planning or logistics coordination (industrial/bulk gases experience preferred but not essential) Strong organisational and multitasking skills Confident communicator with the ability to work under pressure Competent with route-planning systems and Microsoft Office Knowledge of compliance standards within UK transport operations
