B. P. McKeefry is a dynamic Transport Business that currently employs over 100 people and operates throughout Ireland, United Kingdom, and Europe.
B.P. McKeefry Depots are strategically located in Northern Ireland (Head Office), Liverpool, Manchester, Heysham, Basingstoke, and Dublin, offering a wide range of specialist transport services to the food, industrial, and waste industries.

Due to continued controlled growth in our operations, we wish to appoint a Transport Planner at our Swatragh Depot on a permanent basis.
Qualifications/ Requirements for the role:
Strong IT skills: Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook
Good written and oral communication skills
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work well as part of a team or individually, often in a busy working environment, and establish effective working relationships at all levels of the business
Full driving licence
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role is an advantage, however, not essential as full training will be provided

35,000 - 40,000 per annum depending on experience

About the role
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Transport Planner will be responsible for the routing of vehicles throughout the UK, Ireland, and Europe.
The Transport Planner must be enthusiastic and fully committed, a good team player and have exceptional organisational ability. Other duties may include:
Communicating with internal/external customers on a regular basis to determine and meet their requirements
Supporting drivers & issuing instructions
Liaising with key suppliers including shipping companies, maintenance facilities, and tank cleaning stations
Scheduling the cleaning of tankers at tank wash stations
Administrative tasks associated with UK & EU customs declarations
Inputting, reviewing, and verifying information within a bespoke transport information management system (TIMS)
Working under your own initiative and meeting deadlines
Working a Monday - Friday shift pattern (07:00 - 1530 & 0930-1800)
Being on-call 1 week in 4 18:00 - 07:00 in the event of an emergency or significant incident/issue
