The Role: Transport Planner (Projects Department)



We are seeking a proactive and highly organised individual to efficiently plan vehicles, resources, and equipment. You'll work closely with our Project Managers to ensure jobs are scheduled to meet customer expectations. This role includes managing drivers' schedules to optimise productivity, controlling costs, and swiftly resolving any issues that arise.

You'll also be part of our operational on-call rota, handling out-of-hours calls and coordinating emergency work.

Key Responsibilities:



Transport Planning:



Plan and coordinate vehicle and driver schedules efficiently, ensuring jobs are completed on time and the most cost-effective way. Process job schedules and reactive job requests from Account Managers and customers. Maintain up-to-date records in our transport management system (Job Watch) and prepare jobs for invoicing. Provide excellent communication with drivers throughout their shifts. Respond promptly to any issues, including breakdowns or delays. Ensure compliance with all transport regulations and company policies.

Culture & Compliance:



Promote a 'safety first' culture in all activities. Build strong relationships with drivers, customers, and colleagues. Ensure excellent customer service with every interaction. Monitor and report staff absences to the Transport Manager.

What You Bring:



A 'can-do', problem-solving attitude. Strong planning and organisational skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines. Great communication and interpersonal skills. A team player with the ability to work independently when needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. A sound geographical knowledge (preferred). A full UK driving licence.

Employee Benefits:



Salary: 32,000 Per Annum. Employment Type: Full Time Employment, 45 hours per week. Pay Schedule: We operate on a four-weekly pay schedule. Additional Info:



The role includes participation in the on-call rota, which is bi-weekly. Subject to a three-month probationary period.
