Transport Planner

Rugby, Warwickshire, United Kingdom

Job Description

Were Hiring! Hub Transport Planner!
Location: Rugby Hub
At Evri, we're all about delivering smarter, more sustainable logistics by putting people and collaboration at the heart of what we do. We're now looking for a Hub Transport Planner to join our Planning and Operations teams at our flagship Rugby Hub.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with data, and building strong relationships to help shape how our transport network operates every day.
Working from our Rugby Hub, as the Transport Planner you'll be responsible for creating, executing and reviewing daily transport plans that enable our Hub Transport Execution Teams to deliver a premium service. You'll work closely with clients, depots and hub teams to ensure plans are achievable, cost-effective and responsive to changing needs.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the right resources are in place at the right time, while also challenging assumptions, improving accuracy and supporting continuous improvement across our transport operation.
About the role
As a Hub Transport Planner, you'll report into the Hub Transport Planning Lead and act as a vital link between our clients and transport execution teams. Using data provided by clients, you'll create transport plans within our planning systems, ensuring Evri is fully resourced to meet demand without over-resourcing.
You'll be proactive, analytical and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where your planning decisions can directly impact cost, service and staffing levels across the network. You'll also support planning for events such as bank holidays, peak periods and product or process changes.
What you'll be accountable for

  • Producing hub transport plans using transport planning software
  • Continually reviewing and improving transport plan templates to maximise efficiency and value
  • Building and publishing a weekly high-level trunk forecast across the network
  • Driving improvements in planning accuracy and performance
  • Compiling plan versus actual data, reports and insights to support operational teams
  • Providing cost analysis and modelling for new or changing transport activity
  • Creating peak transport plans that balance capacity, service and cost
  • Running business reports as required
What you'll bring
  • Strong analytical skills and computer literacy
  • Experience using transport planning systems
  • Understanding of transport operations, driver legislation and related processes
  • Experience leading or supporting a team
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Confident working with data, analysis and problem-solving
  • Well organised, self-motivated and able to manage deadlines independently
We're committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, supported and able to be themselves. At Evri, you'll be encouraged to share ideas, challenge thinking and develop your career in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
If you're passionate about transport planning and want to make a real impact in a role that combines data, teamwork and decision-making, we'd love to hear from you.
At Evri, we know we only grow if our people do too. That's why we're committed to building a truly inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone can bring - and be - their whole authentic selves. We're on a journey to better represent the customers we serve around the UK. We're committed to removing barriers and ensure that each person at Evri is valued for who they are, and what they bring to our business.
