Job Summary

The main role involves planning local collections, deliveries and trunking of palletised freight on our Pallet Network, working closely with our warehouse and UK traffic teams, safely, efficiently and in full compliance with legal requirements.

Key responsibilities:

Plan local daily collections, deliveries and night trunking for palletised freight (Mon-Fri) using Web based (traffic management software). Manage the electronic information transfer between the TMS and pallet network Monitor drivers progress through the day with use of software packages, taking corrective action when problems/delays occur Ensure drivers adhere to company procedures and provide guidance and assistance when necessary. Resolve staffing issues, e.g. drivers not attending work or holiday cover Comply with customer delivery requirements whilst ensuring vehicles operate efficiently. Liaise with customers, attending to special requirements. Resolve problems on deliveries such as damages, late arrivals. Promote effective, positive communication with drivers, dispatch, warehouse, customers and pallet network.
Working hours will be between. 0600-1800 (40 Hours) but must be flexible due to the nature of the job, and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings.

Salary negotiable depending on experience.

Skills

Proficient in office software including Microsoft Word and Outlook. Strong computer literacy with the ability to utilise various IT systems effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with stakeholders at all levels. Experience in supply chain management or logistics is highly desirable. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Strong leadership qualities to guide teams in achieving operational goals. A solid understanding of logistics principles and practices is essential.
