Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Transport Planning Trainee. This is an excellent opportunity for a new starter to develop a strong understanding of transport operations, vehicle movements, and the day-to-day running of a logistics business. The successful candidate will be trained in transport planning and will support vehicle movements as required, gaining all-round operational experience.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Transport Planning team with daily scheduling of vehicle movements.

Learn and support route planning, driver allocation, and job coordination.

Monitor ongoing deliveries and support with any operational changes or issues.

Liaise with drivers, customers, and internal colleagues to maintain smooth operations.

Support vehicle movement and hands-on logistics tasks when business needs arise.

Help maintain accurate records, documentation, and system updates.

Contribute to general operational duties, gaining broad knowledge across the business.

Observe and learn company processes, policies, and compliance requirements.

Team-player with a positive and proactive attitude.

Basic IT skills (email, spreadsheets).

Interest in transport, logistics, or vehicle operations is advantageous.

Driving licence.
