We are looking to recruit to a number of Transport Projects Delivery Officer roles to support the delivery of our Strategic Transport Plan and help us to deliver the projects set out in our 310m City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement programme, and 978m Transport for City Regions programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in delivering a wide range of different projects including managing:

the development and delivery of projects to increase capacity on the rail network and make improvements at rail stations, the design, development and construction of several schemes to introduce cycle lanes and improve the public realm for those walking and wheeling, and many other different projects.
The successful candidate will work within a team of Project Managers and specialist consultants to support the successful development and delivery of our portfolio of projects, working closely with the Tees Valley partner local authorities and other local delivery partners / businesses.

You don't have to have experience of delivering transport projects. We are looking for candidates with a strong desire to succeed, who are able to work collaboratively to focus on achieving the required outcomes.

Your excellent communication and influencing skills will enable you to engage with different audiences and build relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders.

You will have experience of working on projects, preferably within a political environment, and be able to use those skills to support our programme of work

Duties & Responsibilities



To oversee the delivery of projects contained within the Integrated Transport Programme, including the 310m City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement, and other funded programmes. To ensure that transport projects are delivered in accordance with the Combined Authority's Assurance Framework and government requirements. To work closely with the Tees Valley local authorities and other local delivery partners in the delivery of projects. To work collaboratively with local and national transport related stakeholders to enable the Combined Authority to deliver its priorities. To work collaboratively with other teams in the Combined Authority so that there is a joined-up approach that maximises impact. To support the preparation of high-quality business cases, committee reports and briefing notes for a range of audiences, including senior managers, politicians & partners. To contribute to the identification and effective management of risks associated with the delivery of projects. To be responsible for managing project budgets and ensuring value for money. Undertake any other duties that may be deemed reasonable and necessary to meet the duties and responsibilities of the post and undertake any training that is identified as being required to achieve this. To take reasonable care of your own Health and Safety and co-operate with management, so far as is necessary, to enable compliance with the health and safety rules and legislative requirements. Work flexibly and undertake such other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grading and nature of the post. Ensure compliance with Corporate Governance procedures, procurement regulations and the Data Protection Act and behave according to the Employees' Code of Conduct.
