Overview

Location: Mitcham

Salary: 36,000 per annum

Holiday: 30 days per year (pro rata), including working on Bank Holidays

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Service Manager to lead a team of Class 2 lorry drivers collecting food waste from commercial premises. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with excellent planning, coordination, and people management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and support a team of Class 2 lorry drivers Plan and optimise daily collection rounds Prepare and maintain driver rotas and holiday schedules Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention of drivers Conduct first-level disciplinary procedures and manage driver performance Liaise with the customer service team to assist in onboarding new customers Handle service-related queries and resolve operational issues promptly Ensure compliance with transport and health & safety regulations Maintain high standards of customer service and operational efficiency

Requirements:

Previous experience in transport, logistics, or waste management Strong organisational and planning abilities Proven experience in team leadership and staff management Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Full UK driving license

Additional Details:

30 days annual leave per year (inclusive of Bank Holidays - attendance required on these days) Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm Supportive and growing team with opportunities for progression
