DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles.


WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?




Supporting the Transport Manager in providing a fully compliant operation, operational expertise, ensuring the transport operation is efficiently run within the agreed cost perimeters and ensuring a first class service is maintained to achieve the contracts objectives and meet the customers demands. Achievement of targets, deliveries on time, maintaining team morale, achievement of personal development objectives and remaining compliant To Manage, co-ordinate, supervise and report upon the work activities of a team; providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training & development. Monitor performance, timekeeping, overtime and sickness levels of forty drivers and two clerical staff Analyse reports against KPI targets and advise on action to improve results Ensure Management of driver's tachographs and working time directive are compliant to legislative requirements

Previous and practical experience as a Transport Manager within a logistics environment CPC essential. Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages including Tachomaster and Microlaise Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage, organise and train direct reports Flexibility to work shift patterns Ensures that day-to-day operational activities are inline with customers specifications A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well-received
