We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced and knowledgeable Travel & Tourism Tutor to deliver engaging and inspiring lessons to learners on our Level 2 and Level 3 NCFE Travel & Tourism programmes. As a Tutor, you will play a key role in delivering a curriculum that is current, career-focused, and aligned with industry needs. You'll be responsible for teaching a range of topics including the UK Travel & Tourism Industry, Customer Service, Preparing for a Career, Specialist Tourism, Heritage Tourist Attractions, as well as additional delivery such as group tutorials, one to one tutorials and other additionalities which enhance the curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, helping them to develop the confidence and expertise needed to succeed in today's travel industry.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing internal planning documentation such as curriculum design plans and SOW
Using a range of systems to monitor student progress, and attendance, identifying any students at risk and formulating intervention plans to secure achievement
Liaising with staff on Travel and Tourism programmes across TEC Partnership to ensure a cohesive approach to teaching, learning and assessment
Take an active part in the IQA process and support the EQA process
Source exciting opportunities and arrange trips and visits within the sector
Support students to find external work placements and monitor attendance and progress
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that motivates learners
Organising meetings with parents, NOK, or other stakeholders as necessary
Take part in Open Events, Taster Days etc to support recruitment
About the person
The successful candidate will ideally have previous knowledge of teaching Travel & Tourism to Level 3 to ensure suitable delivery of our qualifications. You will assist in developing employer confidence and work alongside local and regional external stakeholders to ensure the development of work ready skills alongside theoretical knowledge and positive behaviours. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong organisation and administrative skills. For this role you will preferably hold a full teaching qualification (CertEd or PGCE) and will have some travel / tourism / hospitality sector experience. Maths and English qualifications at Grade 4 or C (or equivalent) is essential.
