At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Treasurer & Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our Finance function, on a 12 months maternity cover contract.



This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield. Our Finance department plays a crucial role in ensuring the organisation's financial health, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. Covering everything from day-to-day financial operations to long-term financial planning & analysis, including the delivery of our recapitalisation programme.



As a Treasurer & Accounts Receivable Assistant, you will manage the bank accounts within the group, maintain cash books, produce financial reports and undertake accounts receivable transactional duties.

What you'll be doing

Managing the organisation's cash flow and monitor liquidity to meet financial obligations.


Reconciliations of cash books on a daily basis, daily bank reconciliations on the accounting system and General Ledger accounts on a monthly basis.


Setting up new foreign exchange hedges on a monthly basis, where required.


Maintaining up-to-date banking mandates.


Performing drawdown / equity requests / paybacks, where applicable, to cover all payment requirements and ensuring target balances are maintained.


Regular and ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.


Raising sales invoices and credit notes.


Credit control including chasing overdue invoices.

About You

Ideally AAT qualified.


Strong MS Excel skills.


Good communicator.


Sales Ledger experience.


Credit control experience is desirable.

The Working Pattern

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. We offer flexibility in our start and finish times between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 - 18:00.

These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 - 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
