Citizens Advice Flintshire (CAF) is a trusted local charity, providing free, confidential, and impartial advice to the community since 1964. We help people resolve issues relating to benefits, money, employment, housing, family, discrimination, immigration and more.

Citizens Advice Flintshire (CAF) is a registered charity with our own board of trustees who are responsible for deciding how Citizens Advice Flintshire is run.

We currently have an active board of ten Trustees and following the resignation of our Treasurer, we are seeking to fill this role. All Trustee roles are volunteer roles / unpaid.

About the Role

As our

Treasurer

(Volunteer), you will work closely with the Finance Officer (a qualified accountant) and the CEO. You will use your finance and accountany skills to:

Lead at Board meetings on presenting and interpreting regular financial reports, annual accounts and making recommendations. Lead on the appointment of auditors and responding to changes in legislation.
This is a vital role, helping ensure we can continue our support for the local community. As Treasurer, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to help the strategic progression of the charity.

We are looking for a person with the following competencies, skills and experience :

Qualification in accountancy (essential) Experience of financial management in a medium/large business (essential) Experience of Data Analysis (essential) Experience in presenting financial information to a range of colleagues (essential) Charity and board experience (desirable)
Additionally, you will need to:

be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection; understand and accept the responsibilities and liabilities as trustees; be non-judgmental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own; have good listening, verbal and written communication skills; be able to exercise good independent judgement; be ready to take a full and active role as a board member; be willing to undertake training in your role.
