Group Treasury plays a key role in supporting the business in the delivery of medicines to patients.


We are currently seeking a Treasury Analyst (or Senior Treasury Analyst, dependent on experience) to join the Treasury Operations team at our central Cambridge office, within the wider Group Treasury function. This role requires a strong familiarity with Treasury operational procedures and a proactive approach to ensure Treasury continues to deliver effective support to the business. The engagement is offered as a permanent position, supporting day to day activities as well as ongoing Treasury projects. The successful candidate will be required to work onsite in Cambridge at least three days per week.


The Group Treasury team currently comprises 22 professionals (16 based in the UK), supporting all Treasury affairs for the global AstraZeneca Group. This structure provides an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact within a global FTSE 10 company.

Key Responsibilities




As a Treasury Analyst you will be responsible for a number day-to-day Treasury operations, ensuring all business-as-usual processes are executed accurately, within established timelines, and with maximum Straight Through Processing. The role will also involve participation in project work and close collaboration with senior Treasury colleagues. Over time, increased responsibility and broader involvement with other Treasury and Finance functions are expected. Initial key activities include:

Treasury Trade Confirmations and Payments: Monitor and execute daily confirmations and payments Treasury Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly Collateral Management: Manage daily collateral with counterparty banks Group Bank Balance Monitoring: Oversee group bank balances versus limits and report on counterparty risk exposures. Recommend and implement solutions to repatriate cash to the UK Compliance Monitoring including Sox Controls: Ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies and limits. Report performance against key performance indicators Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audit requirements Continuous Improvement: Actively review, propose and implement solutions to enhance existing processes to drive automation and efficiency Project Support: Provide operational support to the Assistant Treasurer, Operations focusing on initiatives such as bank rationalisation, cash pooling and payment-on-behalf structures or virtual bank account structures

Requirements



Education: Bachelor's degree required; professional qualification highly desirable (e.g. ACT, CIMA) Experience: Previous experience in international Treasury or a Shared Service environment Skills & Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Treasury operational procedures and systems Knowledge of best-in-class Treasury practices and Treasury Management Systems (Quantum an advantage) Strong understanding of payment messaging (SWIFT) and bank onboarding / KYC processes The initiative, curiosity and energy to challenge existing processes, identify and implement improvement opportunities and/or to take on new tasks/responsibilities and develop self Ability to communicate succinctly coupled with the ability to develop collaborative relationships internally and externally High personal standards; commitment to exceptional service delivery Strong focus on delivering accurate results under pressure and meeting tight deadlines A mindset of continuous learning
