Accountability - The Triage Midwife has the overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of maternity triage.


To practice in an environment where safety for the mother and baby are paramount. There will be an expectation to prioritise work effectively and efficiently.


To be a champion of midwifery led care


To provide clinical and management leadership, within the midwifery service.


To provide comprehensive midwifery care in acute and primary health care settings, prioritising work effectively and efficiently.


To provide a visible and accessible authoritative presence in clinical areas.


To work as a Triage Core Band 7 who will be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of the activity Triage and the close coordination of the key areas in the unit.


To be the clinical expert and resource person encompassing the full scope of midwifery practice.


To provide supervision and management of all midwives and clinical support workers, maternity support workers and registered nurses working within the named area


To be responsible and accountable for finances and human resources issues directly related to the clinical area
