We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, with experience in delivery driving and a solid understanding of vehicle mechanics. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo, particularly when using flatbed lorries. Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise. Assist with basic mechanical maintenance of the vehicle as needed, demonstrating mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

Valid driving licence is essential. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is highly desirable. Familiarity with flatbed lorries is an advantage. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients. Previous warehouse experience is beneficial for understanding logistics operations. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times. A good understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in driving.
