Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods to various locations. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate diverse driving conditions. The successful applicant will have experience in recovery and commercial driving, particularly with tilt and slide and flatbed vehicles, and will demonstrate mechanical knowledge to ensure the proper maintenance of their vehicle.

Duties

Operate lorries safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Ensure timely delivery of goods to designated locations, maintaining a high level of customer service. Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport. Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents during transport. Collaborate with team members to optimise overall efficiency.

Requirements

Valid commercial driving licence with experience in operating tilt and slide recovery and flatbed vehicles preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance tasks on the lorry. Previous experience as a recovery driver or delivery driver is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to safety protocols and procedures while on the road.
