Job Description

Job Purpose:

To ensure that all company vehicles (HGVs and trailers) are prepared, presented, and processed for MOT inspections, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT tests. Present vehicles to approved testing facilities (ATFs) for MOT inspections. Liaise with the workshop team to ensure all defects are rectified before presentation. Maintain accurate records of MOT schedules, test results, and documentation. Ensure vehicles meet DVSA compliance standards, including cleanliness and proper loading/unloading for testing. Coordinate with external service providers, test centers, and internal departments. Assist with vehicle inspections, basic checks, and defect reporting. Ensure timely MOT bookings to avoid vehicle downtime. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Key Skills & Requirements:

Knowledge of HGV and trailer maintenance requirements (basic mechanical knowledge preferred). Understanding of DVSA MOT standards and procedures. Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 preferred). Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work to schedules and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and commitment to compliance. Flexibility and willingness to travel between depots/test centers.

Desirable:

Previous experience in an MOT presentation or fleet maintenance role. Basic IT skills for record-keeping (e.g., Excel, fleet management software). Awareness of transport compliance (Tachograph rules, O-licence requirements).

10 hour shift 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Weekend availability
