About us:
The Chantry has been providing specialist neurological care for over 20 years and has built a strong reputation for quality, personalised and innovative care and rehabilitation through its range of residential and community based services.
Our service provides 26 residential beds where there are exciting opportunities for professional growth and development across complex disability, high dependency care and slow stream rehabilitation. We are also able to provide innovative ways of working within the level 2 rehabilitation unit which offers 6 beds. You would be working closely with the in-house multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, to support goal setting and best outcomes for all clients.

MAIN PURPOSE:
To work with the operational and clinical team to turnaround a complex care service rated Requires Improvement (RI) by the CQC, driving rapid improvements to achieve a GOOD rating within 12 months. The post-holder will implement robust governance, enhance clinical quality, improve compliance, and ensure financial sustainability while maintaining high standards of person-centred care for individuals with brain injuries and neurodegenerative conditions.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leadership & Strategic Turnaround:
To support and execute a turnaround plan to achieve CQC GOOD rating.
Lead, motivate, and stabilise the workforce, addressing cultural and performance issues. Implement training programmes (e.g., PBS, neurorehabilitation best practice).
Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding, and best practice in neurorehabilitation.
2. Clinical & Operational Excellence:
Review and strengthen care pathways for brain injury, Huntington's, MND, and other complex needs.
Implement robust clinical governance, risk management, and audit processes.
Ensure MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) effectiveness, including therapy, nursing, and specialist input.
3. Regulatory & Compliance:
Address all CQC improvement areas, ensuring full compliance with all recommendations made in previous inspections both internal and external .
Oversee policies, documentation, and reporting to meet CQC and legal standards.
Lead CQC engagement, preparing for inspections and responding to action plans.
4. Financial & Resource Management:
Optimise staffing, agency use, and skill mix to improve efficiency.
Work with finance teams to ensure service viability while improving care quality.
5. Stakeholder & Reputation Management:
Rebuild trust with service users, families, commissioners, and external partners.
Strengthen relationships with NHS, ICBs, and specialist neuro providers
ABOUT YOU:
Degree in Health/Social Care, Nursing, or Management.
CQC compliance/leadership training.
Proven turnaround experience in healthcare (CQC RI/Inadequate to Good).
Leadership in brain injury/neurodegenerative care (Huntington's, MND)
Strong knowledge of CQC KLOEs and regulatory frameworks.
Strong leadership, change management, and decision-making.
Ability to analyse data, implement audits, and drive improvements.
Excellent communication with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience in changing culture and addressing performance issues
