WEA have an exciting opportunity for an Arts for Employability Tutor to join our Midlands team. You will provide delivery of a range of courses which support learners to increase skills and gain employment. The role will be Leicester based to support those looking for work or living in deprived communities.

As a Tutor, you will provide the highest possible quality teaching and learning to a group of learners, in both face to face classroom and online classroom environments.

This role will provide an opportunity for a committed and flexible tutor to create a learning journey for those furthest from the jobs market into employment. The journey will include delivery of creative arts non-accredited courses and low-level accredited provision with progression up to Level 2. Courses will include increasing confidence and personal development and/or employability skills specific to their chosen career pathway.

Providing engaging teaching, learning and assessment with a creative and supportive approach to teaching, adapting to a range of learning styles, and ability to differentiate delivery to learners with mixed abilities to develop learners` knowledge and understanding.

Undertaking effective initial assessments and diagnostic activities and preparing course materials, ensuring a wide range of formative and summative assessment practices, which motivates and stretches learners to reach their objectives.

You will plan, prepare and teach courses face to face and online, using Zoom/Teams and Canvas, the WEA`s virtual learning environment. Supporting the wider delivery of a quality curriculum offer that supports the work of the Association.

As a Tutor, you should have:
- Teaching qualification (PCGE, CertEd, DET or equivalent), level 5 specialism and have IQA and Assessor qualifications;
- Experience of design and implementation of innovative learning, schemes of work and lesson plans;
- Experience in a range of initial assessment and diagnostic tools;
- Experience of effective quality improvement processes;
- Experience of quality standardisation, moderation and verification practices;
- Strong working knowledge of Ofsted\xc3\xa2\xe2\x82\xac\xe2\x84\xa2s Education Inspection Framework;
- Experience of working with adults in hard-to-reach areas who may face multiple barriers to education, you can break down barriers and your teaching opens doors for individuals;
- A strong team work ethic. We like to collaborate and support each other;
- A passion for adult education, and making a difference!

You will need to be flexible to the needs of our learners and partners and able to adapt delivery to suit a range of abilities. Travelling to partner organisations where need is identified is essential so access to reliable transport and a willingness to travel is also essential.
