Role Overview

We are looking for a UX/UI Designer with strong experience in WordPress environments to design intuitive, engaging, and conversion-focused user experiences across our client websites, themes, and plugins.

This role is responsible for owning the user experience and interface design layer across both new website builds and existing platforms. You will work closely with Developers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are not only visually strong but also practical, usable, and implemented accurately within WordPress.

A key part of the role is translating user needs and business goals into clear wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs, while continuously improving usability, accessibility, and responsiveness across devices.

Key Responsibilities

Design intuitive and engaging user interfaces for WordPress websites, themes, and plugins
Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and UI flow diagrams for new projects and enhancements
Collaborate closely with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately within WordPress
Optimise existing interfaces to improve usability, accessibility, and responsiveness
Ensure brand consistency and adherence to modern UX and UI design principles across all products
Conduct usability testing and use insights to inform design improvements and iterations
Maintain design documentation, style guides, and reusable UI component libraries
Review implemented designs and provide feedback to ensure quality and consistency
Identify UX risks, usability issues, or potential improvements and flag them proactively

Skills and Experience

Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer working within a WordPress development environment (essential)
Strong portfolio demonstrating custom WordPress website designs and or plugin UI work
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar
Solid understanding of responsive design principles and user-centred design methodologies
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, with a basic understanding of JavaScript or jQuery
Familiarity with WordPress theme structure and WordPress admin UI components
Experience collaborating with developers and working within technical constraints
Excellent attention to detail and strong visual design skills
Clear and confident communication skills
