Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an experienced ESG professional to lead the strategic development and delivery of a UK investor client's Responsible Property Investment and ESG programme. This high-impact role will drive the client's journey toward Net Zero by 2040 and ensure ESG is fully embedded across all funds and assets under management.


Working within our dynamic EMEA ESG Advisory team, you'll collaborate closely with the client's Responsible Investment & Strategy Lead and Cushman & Wakefield's Head of Sustainability & ESG, EMEA. You'll also play a key part in shaping and evolving Cushman & Wakefield's sustainability offering to Investor clients across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:



ESG Strategy & Governance



Lead the refinement and implementation of Responsible Investment policies that exceed market expectations. Chair the client's monthly Responsible Investment Committee. Provide expert advice on ESG integration across investment decisions and fund strategies. Monitor market trends to inform client leadership and internal service development.

Reporting & Disclosure



Lead quarterly and annual ESG reporting including PRI, TCFD, SFDR, and GRESB. Oversee ESG data management (energy, water, waste) to track progress on GHG emissions and Net Zero targets. Manage ESG-related investor and consultant communications, questionnaires, and audits.

Net Zero & Climate Resilience



Guide asset- and portfolio-level decarbonisation strategies aligned with regulatory requirements (e.g. MEES). Leverage internal service lines and external partners to support implementation.

Stakeholder Engagement



Drive ESG integration at the asset level, including capex reviews and site improvement plans. Chair regular engagement with fund and asset managers to ensure strategic alignment. Support ESG strategy for new fund launches and client pitches. Engage with property management partners to ensure training, compliance, and efficient data capture. Deliver training to client teams to build ESG capability.

Team Leadership



Lead, mentor, and manage a dedicated ESG consultant and analyst on the client account. Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the sustainability team.

Key Success Metrics



Client satisfaction and account retention ESG service development and internal team growth Achievement of client KPIs (Net Zero progress, EPC targets, GRESB scores) Delivery of personal annual objectives

Skills & Experience:



Strong understanding of the Sustainability & ESG market, principles, reporting frameworks (GRESB PRI), and UK regulations within a real-estate context Strong experience in providing technical advice to clients on asset improvement, certification improvement, and EPCs and advising clients as such Proven experience (8+ years) in ESG, sustainability, or responsible investment, within real estate or asset management. Strategic thinker and problem-solving skills to navigate complex challenges and drive innovative ESG solutions. High proficiency in ESG data collection process and procedures and in software platforms Demonstrated leadership in developing and executing ESG strategies for Investor Clients and working directly with asset and fund management teams. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels internally and externally Enthusiastic about sustainability & ESG in real estate
