Mixing Lab Technician

Position Summary





The Mixing Lab Technician plays a vital role within the production team and is responsible for the preparation, mixing, and pouring of polyurethane and epoxy compounds in accordance with technical specifications. The mould shop technician ensures that all processes adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental standards. This role requires accurate interpretation of engineering drawings, effective communication with team members, and a strong focus on chemical handling protocols. The technician is also expected to support stock management, maintain high standards of equipment and workspace cleanliness, and contribute to team training and continuous improvement efforts. A proactive approach to safety, attention to detail, and a commitment to operational excellence are essential for success in this position.




Minimum Qualifications






Education:



No Education criteria required



Experience:



Working with Epoxy and or Polyurethane preferred but not essential as training will be provided. Reclaiming moulds preferred but not essential



Knowledge:



Working knowledge of health and safety guidelines



Skills:




Strong Chemical and Chemical Handling Awareness Attention to detail and high quality standards Organization and time management Literacy & Accuracy - record keeping Forward Planning and Prioritization



Job Responsibilities






Liaising with team members and team leaders to plan, mix and pour polyurethane and epoxy mixes.



Communicating information to peers and mangers on a timely basis.



Interpreting technical engineering drawings to manufacture in-line with process specifications.



Manufacturing inserts and CDP of connector bodies / back-shells.



Adhering to PPE and cleanliness procedures and ensuring Staff entering the area do likewise.



Handling/storing chemicals adhering to health and safety procedures.



Deflash mould and label assemblies in line with drawing requirements.



Maintaining all equipment to proper standards on a regular basis.



Maintain good housekeeping practices to ensure the working environment is Customer friendly at all times.



Assist with training and job or product awareness for other staff within the Group.



Maintain the Group management behaviours practices and equal opportunity policy.
