UK Training Officer 'Building Stronger Futures for Older Veterans'
Age Cymru Dyfed with its partner, Age Cymru, have been grant-funded (2024-2027) by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to develop and roll out an innovative eLearning training course to public and voluntary sector agencies throughout the UK. The purpose of the training course is to raise awareness of the needs of older veterans so they may have better experiences and outcomes of health and social care.

his project began in 2024, and during this first year the eLearning training course has been developed and piloted, with a formal launch taking place on 16th July at the National Arboretum in Staffordshire, with 'soft' launches taking place during Armed Forces week beginning 23rd June 2025.
From September 2025, the training will be rolled out across the UK with the UK Training Officer playing a pivotal role in implementation.
Age Cymru Dyfed 'Building a Stronger Future for Older Veterans' has a team of three supporting this new eLearning project.
Key responsibilities of the role:
To liaise and make direct contact with outside agencies including NHS, Local Authorities and the Voluntary Sector for the purpose of establishing close working links.
Identify and measure the impact of the training using qualitative and quantitative methods to assist in the evaluation and effectiveness.
Maintain accurate up to date records of all contacts via charity Log CRM system.
To work as part of a team.
