We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic UKMLA PLAB tutors to join our team, helping doctors prepare for the UKMLA Medical Licensing exams, specifically PLAB 1 and PLAB 2.
Position: Part time, 10 - 25 hours per week.
About You:
The ideal tutor will be passionate about teaching, with a strong understanding of the UKMLA PLAB exams and the latest MLA Content Map. You should be self-motivated, able to meet deadlines, and enjoy working with students in a warm, respectful, and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver UKMLA PLAB 1 and 2 courses through face-to-face or online sessions.
- Create tailored lesson plans to meet students' individual needs and goals.
- Provide one-on-one or small group mentoring.
- Help students grasp key concepts and improve test-taking skills.
- Administer mock exams and track student progress.
- Identify areas for improvement and offer constructive feedback.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to enhance learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Maintain a professional and disciplined learning environment.
- Prepare and update reports on student performance.
Qualifications:
- Successfully completed PLAB 2 exams.
- Familiar with GMC MLA Content Map, NICE guidelines, and BNF.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in tutoring or teaching, especially for international doctors.
- Ability to create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Flexible teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
- A genuine interest in helping students achieve top scores.
