Working alongside the Development and Compliance Manager, your role will be looking to ensure compliance of our products against internal/external regulations and standards, highlighting differences between UK and EU laws for the products. This will involve individual task management and therefore opportunities to use self-initiative to select your own projects.

Over the 12-month placement, the successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Checking on current/changing standards and regulations at EU and UK level and what they will mean to the current products in comparing to state of the art.
  • Communicating suggested changes in standards and legislation to the team as necessary.
  • Task ownership and project responsibility including presenting to the business discovered changes.
  • Understanding and updating compliance based on Brexit.
Development opportunities that the successful candidate will gain whilst on placement:
  • Multiple opportunities to communicate and discuss crucial issues that are affecting the business with senior management.
  • Wider experience of a global business with the possibility to interact and shadow numerous different departments as well as Denham legal headquarters.
  • Developing candidates\xe2\x80\x99 existing knowledge and skills as well as gaining professional office and administrative experience.
Qualifications

Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an undergraduate student seeking a placement year as part of your degree - if you do not meet these criteria please consider applying for other positions.

Our ideal candidate must have the following:
  • Currently working towards a degree in law or law with politics.
  • An interest in EU and UK regulations/standards.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office (particularly with Excel) and ready to embrace new ways of working.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing working environments.
  • Good organisation and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Have the confidence to challenge and propose new ideas in a professional manner.
  • Potential to communicate confidently with people at all levels.
  • Has the capability to work well in a team as well as independently, using own initiative.
  • Ability to digest a lot of written information and summarise into presentations as necessary.
Additional Information

Expected Start Date: July 2024

Working Hours: 39 hours a week; Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Thursday 08.00 - 17.00 and Fridays 08.00 - 16.00 with a 1-hour unpaid lunchbreak.
