to support the management of the twilight shift and provide full cover during periods of absence, holiday, or other planned/unplanned leave.
This role is ideal for an experienced production or supervisory colleague looking to develop their leadership capability and progress into a future Site Manager position. The role involves hands-on production work, operational support, and increasing responsibility for site-wide oversight during out-of-hours working.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Twilight Shift Site Manager in the day-to-day running of the shift.
Provide full management cover for the twilight shift when the Site Manager is absent.
Carry out hands-on production tasks including oven cooking and fat/vat cooking.
Support workforce coordination, including staffing, holiday cover, and TMS updates.
Uphold health, safety, food hygiene, and compliance standards at all times.
Communicate effectively with production teams and day-shift management to ensure smooth handovers.
Support training, coaching, and development of team members.
Additional Site Responsibilities (When Covering):
Act as the senior responsible person on site during twilight hours.
Oversee site security and controlled access.
Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies including:
- DAF plant (effluent system)
- Boiler room
- RDM monitoring (chillers, freezers, alarms, temperature checks)
- Fire alarm activations and emergency response
Carry out intake and despatch duties when required, including forklift operation (FLT licence required or willingness to obtain).
What We're Looking For:
Good command of English (spoken and written) to ensure clear communication, accurate reporting and safe site operations.
Experience working in a food production or manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated leadership potential with a positive, proactive attitude.
Willingness to work hands-on and take increasing responsibility.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Good understanding of health, safety, and food compliance requirements.
Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
Full UK driving licence (car).
Shifts available: Twilight Shift (approx 14:30-01:00 Mon-Thur, earlier finish Fri) - 45 hours per week.
