Role: Credit Risk Underwriter

Your Responsibilities:

- Make lending decisions for unsecured student loans.

- Review income and expenditure data, analyze credit information, and research university courses and fees.

- Assess both creditworthiness and affordability of applicants.

- Analyze, prepare, and price loan cases within your mandate, providing recommendations for higher-level approvals when necessary.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement.

Our Ideal Candidate:

- Minimum of 1 years' experience in consumer credit analysis within unsecured consumer finance.

- Knowledge of underwriting and scorecard model development techniques.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, independent work environment.

- A commitment to continuous professional development.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

- A team player with fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

- Strong numeracy skills.

- Professional and courteous communication, both written and verbal.

- Familiarity with governance and relevant FCA regulations for a consumer P2P marketplace lender (TCF).

What You'll Do:

Working within the Credit Assessment team, you will:

- Analyse and assess incoming loan applications.

- Provide valuable insights through reports and other materials.

- Act as an advocate for the Credit Risk function as the business expands.

- Other related tasks, including participating in fairs/exhibitions.
