Underwriter - Motor Fleet

(Manchester)

The Opportunity:

This is an opportunity to join an established and well-respected underwriting team at QBE. Due to a growth focus within the North West region we are currently seeking an Underwriter to join our Motor Fleet team. Covering both new and existing business across our varied UK commercial book, you will underwrite business in accordance with the business plan and agreed authority.

Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:

• Underwrite business within personal underwriting authority to delivery Business Plan objectives
• Participate in all relevant meetings in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice
• Support/Build Broker Distribution & Engagement Plans in conjunction with the Market Management Team
• Build strong Broker & Customers relationships that leverage QBE\xe2\x80\x99s proposition as the most consistent and innovative risk partner
• Collaborate with the wider regional teams to deliver cross class client solutions and engagement
• Work with other functions within the business to deliver customer focused solutions, including Risk Solutions, Claims, Operations and Market Management

To succeed in the role, you ideally will have:

• Experience in underwriting commercial motor business lines.
• An understanding of market trends and the impact on financial lines classes
• A good network of Broker contacts across the North West.
• Good relationship management through interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your tasks to gain maximum outcome
• An open mindset that will allow you to innovate and adapt your approach to deliver customer focused solutions
• A knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements
• Progress towards CII qualifications
