Job Description

We are looking for a Unit Co-ordinator - Automation to join our automation production team, preparing thousands of high-quality meals daily for leading international airlines. You will drive forward the consistent use of automation within the unit, to ensure continuous improvement in the use of the automation line.

Pay: 31,534.44

with the potential to work paid additional hours

Production/Kitchen - Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities



Manage the General Assistants working on the line, ensure timings and placement of staff are optimised to meet the output deadlines. Develop an understanding of the basic mechanical and electrical elements of the automated line to deliver first response problem solving. Implement new recipes / specifications / technical layout of products to be processed via the automation line. Document, review and analyse the KPIs recorded to identify where improvements can be made in the operation Liaise with on-site maintenance team and subject matter experts to repair faults on the automation line. Liaise with on-site maintenance team and subject matter experts to monitor, maintain and re-order consumable parts and spares. Ensure just-in-time approach to the people and product placement on the automation line. Collaboration with the production, dishwash and warehouse teams to provide the details of products and timing of products required for the automation line. Reporting of improvements made to the line and reporting stoppages and failures on the line to utilise historical data to improve the utilisation of the automation line. Report and track defects on the line. Ensure all airline products are to specification. Pack carts/ Production trollies to the required standard and in accordance with passenger volumes. Ensuring stock levels are maintained to the required levels and organised as per production schedule. Ensure stock rotation in line with Newrest Group standards. Record, report food wastage. Record, report breakages i.e., china, glass Ensure production schedules are met. Support other departments and teams when and where required to maintain production/dispatch schedule. Adhere to all unit & inflight compliance, safety, and security measures in place.

Knowledge and Skills:



Recent graduate in Food Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Strong interest in automation and food production systems. A flexible, hands-on approach and a team mindset. An eye for detail and commitment to high standards. The ability to work calmly under pressure. * Willingness to work in a chilled environment and rotating shifts (as required).
