About the Role:
As a
Unit Manager (Non-Nurse)
, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered within your unit. You will lead a team of care staff, oversee daily operations, and act as a key point of contact for residents, families, and professionals. This is a hands-on leadership role for a compassionate and motivated individual who wants to make a real difference in a caring and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, supervise, and support a team of Care Assistants and Senior Carers, ensuring high morale and performance.
Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the unit, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care delivery.
Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised care plans in partnership with residents and their families.
Act as the main point of contact for residents' families, providing updates and building positive, trusting relationships.
Ensure full compliance with all regulatory standards (CQC), company policies, and health & safety legislation.
Conduct supervisions, appraisals, and identify training needs to support staff development.
Manage medication administration processes (in line with competency and policy) and maintain accurate records.
Promote a positive, homely, and stimulating environment for all residents.
Collaborate effectively with external healthcare professionals, including GPs, district nurses, and social workers.
Uphold the dignity, privacy, and independence of every resident at all times.
What We Are Looking For (Essential Requirements):
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
is essential.
Proven experience in a
Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader, or Deputy Manager
role within a
care home
,
nursing home
, or
elderly care
setting.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a team.
Comprehensive knowledge of
CQC fundamental standards
and key legislation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and respectful approach.
Solid understanding of care planning, risk assessment, and safeguarding procedures.
Competent in administrative tasks and maintaining clear, accurate records.
