Job Description

An opportunity has opened for a Unit Manager (residential unit) to join our committed and caring team, to work with the elderly and frail adults living at Andrew Smith House in Nelson, a 60 bedded nursing home.

The applicant must have experience in leading and managing a team, an NVQ 3 or equivalent as a minimum, and excellent care skills are required.

Shifts are 8:00am - 20:00pm covering 36 working allocated shifts per week and 6 hours supernumerary per week, totalling 42 hours per week.

- Maintaining excellent care standards

- Experience in managing a team of staff.

- Promotion of therapeutic activity and wellbeing.

- To support and direct the Care Team.

- Maintenance of CQC fundamental standards & NICE Guidelines.

- Monitoring and maintaining Standards of Care.

- Maintenance of Person-Centred Care Plans and Risk Assessments.

- Medication administration, ordering and storage.

- Staff supervision and appraisal.

- Rota management.

- Maintaining the Company Ethos and Values.

- Adhering to Company Policies and Procedures.
