We are looking for new Upcycled Fashion Volunteers to join our team at Oxfam Darlington!
As an Upcycled Fashion Volunteer, we hope you already have a passion for repurposing and altering donated fabric and clothing in order to create something uniquely individual and fresh.
This voluntary role involves:
- Making the most of donated clothing and other textiles, using a variety of techniques, in order to create a fresh, new saleable item
- Creating one off looks for potential Fashion Shows at Darlington's Eco fair
- Potentially using culled books and homewares to create unique pieces
- Creating bags for life from culled textiles to sell at the till
The ideal candidate will:
- Be reliable and able to work as part of a team
- Also capable of working independently
- Have a creative eye
- Be available to work a minimum of one 4 hour shift per week.
We can offer our volunteers valuable work experience in a retail environment, and the opportunity to directly contribute to Oxfam's mission to achieve a just world without poverty. We can provide references for our team, and we can provide lunches and travel costs in accordance with our expenses policy.
