Upper Strings Peripatetic Music Teacher - West Heath (B31)
We are seeking an
experienced Upper Strings Teacher
(violin/viola) to deliver high-quality peripatetic music lessons to students at a school based in the
West Heath (B31)
area of Birmingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with a vibrant student community and contribute meaningfully to their musical and academic development.

Hours:
Part-time, with flexibility across the school week
Start Date:
September 2025 (or earlier if available)
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and structured violin/viola lessons to small groups and individuals
Teach across a range of levels, supporting progress through recognised graded syllabuses (e.g. ABRSM, Trinity)
Work collaboratively with the school's music lead to align lessons with curriculum objectives
Support students with performance preparation, ensemble participation, and coursework requirements (including recordings, portfolios, and assessment preparation)
Contribute to school concerts and musical events where appropriate
Maintain clear communication with school staff and our admin team for smooth coordination
Candidate Profile:
Proven experience teaching upper strings in school or music service settings
Confident supporting students from beginner to advanced levels
Familiarity with a range of exam board requirements and school music curriculums
Professional, reliable, and enthusiastic about supporting young musicians
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
Willingness to work as part of a wider teaching team and contribute to the school's music culture
