Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chef to start IMMEDIATELY to assist in running daily operations within the kitchen of a popular cafe in Aylsham.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and food service, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and customer service. The Cafe Chef will be responsible for coordinating food preparation and maintaining an inviting atmosphere for guests.

Duties

Supervise daily cafe operations, ensuring a smooth workflow and high-quality service. Lead and motivate a team of staff members, fostering a positive work environment. Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to food safety regulations and culinary standards. Manage inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock without over-ordering. Develop and implement training programmes for new employees on food preparation and customer service best practices. Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, striving to enhance guest satisfaction. Collaborate with the kitchen team to create seasonal menus that reflect current trends in hospitality. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe, including kitchen areas and dining spaces.

Requirements

Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or restaurant industry as a Sous Chef or higher. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and culinary practices. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team. Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of cafe management. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with staff and customers alike. A passion for food preparation and delivering outstanding customer service.

This is a temporary position with an IMMEDIATE start, with the potential of going permanent if interested. Pay is 16.00 - 20.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
