Balfour Beatty Multi-Utility (BBMU) is a multi-discipline utility business specialising in the design, delivery and management of utility works for both Balfour Beatty Group businesses and external clients. As we continue to expand our capabilities across the UK, we are looking for a highly organised and proactive

Utilities Co-ordinator

to play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of major and complex infrastructure schemes.


About the Role





As a Utilities Co-ordinator, you will be at the heart of multi-utility delivery, working directly with Utility Companies (UCs), designers, clients, internal teams and key stakeholders. Reporting to the Utility Lead, you will support the full lifecycle of schemes--from feasibility through to handover--ensuring utilities works are effectively coordinated, compliant, and aligned with project objectives.



This is a critical role that combines technical understanding, stakeholder management and programme oversight. You will contribute to the development of multi-utility designs, assist in shaping delivery strategies, and help ensure our works maximise value while minimising risk.

What you'll be doing



Creating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders such as clients, utility companies, and internal and external design teams. The role requires a high level understanding and overview of construction works as a whole to allow informed input to be made when relating to UC works. Coordinating the documentation required for management of critical UCs relationships

on major civil engineering projects from design development to completion.
Leading the day to day liaison with UCs and other key stakeholders, with the aim of driving efficiency, identifying opportunities, and mitigating risk for Balfour Beatty and the wider project. Obtaining estimates from UCs (in line with the NRSWA C2-C9 process), working with them and our internal design & delivery teams to challenge the estimates, identify value engineering opportunities and/or risk reduction. Working with design teams to request, coordinate, track, review and present C2

searches, C3 budgets and C4 estimates in a format suitable to the client
End-to-end liaison regarding the design and delivery of diversion and new connections works being delivered by Utility Companies. Provide assistance to the BBMU delivery teams on site managing the install of utility works, including weekly reporting and maintaining utility relationships. Assisting in managing a portfolio of strategic relationships across key UCs. Assisting in managing a portfolio of strategic relationships across Balfour Beatty to ensure that the Multi-Utility business is fully recognised and utilised - promoting the team capabilities where possible. As the BBMU team grows, this role will adapt accordingly to support and meet the

deliverables of the wider team. Providing support to Site Manager, Site Engineers and designers as required.
Working effectively within internal clients' organisational structures where required. Throughout, uphold the Balfour Beatty Group values and behaviours to ensure the highest standards of safety, sustainability, environmental responsibility, and quality are implemented.


Who we're looking for



Ideally, successful candidate will demonstrate the following:



CSCS Card Holder. MS Office proficient and experience with Bluebeam. CAD familiarity preferable. CDM Familiarity. Positioned suited to highly organised individuals. Demonstrable experience with utilities environment. Applicant will take a proactive and autonomous approach to work, including making
significant decisions to inform the direction of a project from a commercial,


programme and design perspective.

Embedded as a key element of the clients team. Experience interfacing with UCs and multiple stakeholders (such as planning and
highways authorities) in respect of diversion and new connections works on major


construction schemes.

Experience chairing meetings. Experience in managing and maintaining regular reporting requirements both with
clients and internal stakeholders.

Awareness of the NRSWA protocols and processes in relation to utility assets. Experience in wider organisation process management. Excellent relationship management skills, with ability to work across conflicting
interest groups to develop solutions to complex operational and commercial problems
