We delighted to be assisting our client who are seeking an experienced
Utilities Planner
to join their team on a major infrastructure programme in the UK. This is a key role in coordinating and delivering the planning of utility diversions and installations to support large-scale civil engineering works.
You will be responsible for ensuring that utility works are planned, scheduled, and delivered in line with project requirements, statutory obligations, and stakeholder expectations. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and proactive individual to make a significant impact on one of the country's most complex infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed plans and schedules for utility diversions, connections, and protection works.
Coordinate with utility providers, local authorities, design teams, and construction partners to secure approvals and align programmes.
Ensure compliance with statutory processes, permits, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor progress against programme, identifying risks, delays, and opportunities for optimisation.
Support the integration of utility works with wider construction activities to minimise disruption and maximise efficiency.
Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for project stakeholders.
Drive collaborative working and foster positive relationships with key partners.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in
utilities planning
within large infrastructure, civil engineering, or construction projects.
Strong knowledge of statutory undertakers' processes, street works legislation, and utility coordination.
Excellent planning, scheduling, and programme management skills.
Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across design, delivery, and regulatory environments.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) is desirable.
