Job Description

RealVNC is the remote access platform for engineers looking for the most reliable and the most secure solution built by the creators of VNC technology. Over the last 25 years, as the inventors of VNC, we've enabled a global workforce to work wherever works and created the remote access market. Our software is used by hundreds of millions of users worldwide including IT professionals from global companies, such as Intel, IBM, NASA, Shell, DreamWorks and Philips.

Our lead product, VNC Connect, allows users to connect securely to a remote device anywhere in the world, see its screen in real-time, and take control as though sitting in front of it. The product has been deployed across a myriad of use cases, from remote support through to deploying the software onto connected devices such as medical ventilators, set-top boxes, heavy industrial machinery and more.

Backed by leading mid-market private equity firm, Livingbridge since 2021, we are investing in our people to support our highly ambitious growth plans. As part of our people strategy to develop our next generation organisation, we are looking to add new team members that are integral to the success of the business, committed to delivering high quality results, collaboration and innovation to help accelerate company growth.

Position:

-------------

We're looking for a thoughtful and pragmatic UX Designer to join our growing Product team. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with a passionate, down-to-earth team of Product Managers, Engineers, and Creatives to design intuitive, elegant user experiences for our suite of Desktop and Web applications--with some mobile work sprinkled in. This role is a great opportunity to shape the UX direction and have a real impact on the end-to-end experience of our products.

Our products are technically complex, but that doesn't mean they should feel that way to users. Your mission is to simplify user journeys, reduce friction, create a-ha moments, and design tools that feel easy and empowering--even when they're undertaking highly complex processes.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

Designing user-centric experiences across desktop, web, and occasional mobile applications. Collaborating closely with Product Managers / Owners and Engineers from ideation to execution--ensuring designs are feasible and implemented faithfully. Partnering with the design team to align UX with strong visual aesthetics. Leading user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs that make complex tasks feel seamless. Conducting user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and inform product strategy. Iterating quickly based on feedback from stakeholders, users, and your own insights. Championing accessibility, scalability, and design consistency across platforms.

Requirements:

-----------------

You:

Have 5+ years of experience in UX design, ideally working on complex software products. Have a strong portfolio showcasing user flows, wireframes, and interaction design for Desktop and Web applications (mobile is a plus). Are comfortable working in cross-functional teams, especially alongside engineers and product managers. Have experience working with Product Analytics tools to identify poor UX paths as well as A/B test solutions. Are a clear communicator who can explain design rationale and advocate for user needs. Have a solid grasp of user-centred design methodologies, usability principles, and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD). Have experience simplifying workflows in technical or data-heavy applications (a strong plus).

As well as the above, if you have any of the desired experience below then we'd like to know about it!

Experience designing for highly technical users (e.g., developers, data scientists, engineers). Familiarity with agile development processes. Basic understanding of front-end development or design systems.
