The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Campervan Conversion Technician to join our passionate team. This is a pivotal role, responsible for bringing our custom designs to life, from initial build-out to the final touches. If you have a meticulous approach, a strong work ethic, and a genuine enthusiasm for creating functional and beautiful living spaces in vans, you will thrive in our creative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Conversion Build-Out:

Executing all aspects of campervan conversions, including insulation, flooring, wall paneling, carpet lining, poptop fitting, furniture construction and installation (kitchen units, beds, seating), and bespoke storage solutions.

Electrical Installation:

Installing 12V and 230V electrical systems, including wiring, sockets, lighting, leisure batteries, solar charging systems, and mains hook-ups, ensuring all work is safe and compliant.

Plumbing & Water Systems:

Installing fresh and grey water tanks, pumps, sinks, and other necessary plumbing components.

Appliance Integration:

Fitting and securing various campervan appliances such as fridges, hobs, heaters, and water heaters.

Problem-Solving & Customization:

Adapting to unique vehicle layouts and customer specifications, finding practical and aesthetic solutions to challenges.

Quality Control:

Ensuring all work meets Lakeland Campervan Interiors' exacting standards for safety, durability, and finish.

Material Management:

Assisting with the careful handling, cutting, and management of materials to minimize waste.

Collaboration:

Working closely with the design team and other technicians to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to specification.

Relevant Technical Skills:

Proven experience in at least two or more of the following areas: carpentry/cabinet making, electrical installation (12V and 230V), plumbing, or vehicle mechanics/fitting. Qualifications in these trades are highly desirable.

Problem-Solving & Adaptability:

The ability to think creatively and logically to overcome challenges inherent in custom conversion work, adapting plans as needed.

Desire for Growth:

Team Player:

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a small, dedicated team. A Full UK Driving Licence is preferred, but not essential for this role.

Working Hours:

Typical working days are Monday to Friday. (Specific hours 8am - 4:30pm.)

Pay: 24,500.00-30,000.00 per year
