About the Van Driver Role - Charity, Community, and Care
As a Van Driver, you will play a crucial part in our fundraising activity, supporting our charity shops by collecting and delivering donated items across the local area. You will provide friendly, respectful service to our supporters, helping to handle donations in a safe and professional manner. This is a varied and rewarding driving job with a clear purpose that positively impacts the people we support.
Main Responsibilities for Charity Van Driver
Collect and deliver donated goods, furniture, and other items between supporters, charity shops, warehouses, and the Hospice.
Provide excellent, courteous service when interacting with donors, supporters, and colleagues.
Handle and load/unload items safely, ensuring care is taken with all donations.
Complete delivery and collection paperwork accurately.
Ensure the charity van is kept clean, tidy, maintained, and roadworthy at all times, reporting any issues promptly.
Support volunteers and team members, contributing to a safe, collaborative working environment.
Comply with driving regulations, manual handling procedures, and St Luke's Hospice health and safety standards.

About You - Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Required
Valid full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
Excellent knowledge of the local area.
Reliable, punctual, and organised with strong attention to detail.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to carry out manual handling tasks safely (appropriate training will be provided).
Commitment to upholding the values and ethos of St Luke's Hospice.
Desirable Attributes and Experience
Experience in a driving or delivery position, especially in the charity, retail, or related sector.
Experience working with volunteers or in a team-based environment.
Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
