VAN DRIVER

STARTING SALARY: 12.50 PER HOUR

LOCATION: BRAINTREE, ESSEX

JPJ Installations are a construction contractor based in Braintree, Essex specialising in aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling. We are now looking to recruit a van driver into our transport department to undertake deliveries from our site in Braintree to various construction sites throughout London and East Anglia.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Driving company van and other vehicles to construction sites to deliver and collect goods, predominantly in the London/East Anglia area.

Checking and offloading deliveries

Undertake daily vehicle inspections and maintenance checks

Maintaining tidiness of the outside areas and warehouse

Loading vehicles for deliveries, ensuring they are secured properly for transport.

Adhere to H&S standards and procedures

Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations

Undertake any other general warehouse duties when required.

Role Requirements:

You must hold a clean, valid UK driving licence and be confident to drive and undertake deliveries in the London area. Previous experience is desirable but not essential. You must be capable to undertake heavy lifting when necessary as you will assist with the loading/unloading of the vehicles.

A forklift licence would be beneficial but is not essential.

Basic hours are 40 per week, typically working core hours of 6am - 2:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid break, however due to the nature of the role flexibility is required and there may be some earlier starts on occasions (usually no earlier than 5am).

This is an employed role, paid weekly in arrears.
