We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a van driver / cellar maintenance person. This role involves operating commercial vehicles, primarily a 3.0T van to facilitate the delivery of goods across various locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe transportation, maintaining vehicle condition, and providing excellent communication with clients and team members. Prior experience in driving, warehouse operations, or delivery services is highly desirable. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical knowledge / beer cellar experience who can maintain our four locations around the south of the UK. additional odd job knowledge and skills also an advantage.
Duties
Safely operate our van and in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure operational safety.
Plan delivery routes efficiently, considering traffic conditions and delivery schedules.
Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery times and any issues encountered.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle logs, and maintenance activities.
Assist with warehouse duties as required, including inventory management and stock organisation.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Maintain cellar / beer taps / cellar gas equipment and complete small odd jobs at our premises as requested.
Qualifications
must be over 25 for insurance purposes
Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver.
Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
Valid driver's licence or equivalent certification recognised within the UK.
Experience working in warehouse environments or logistics is advantageous.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and clients.
Familiarity with driving regulations
Ability to organise workload efficiently and work independently or as part of a team.
