Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely while ensuring excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, a good understanding of vehicle mechanics, and the ability to work in a warehouse environment. The Van Driver will play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of operations and ensuring timely deliveries.

Responsibilities

Operate a van to deliver goods to various locations while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition, including checking fluid levels, brakes, and tyres. Load and unload goods from the van, ensuring that items are secured properly during transit. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts and delivery logs. Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient loading processes and inventory management. Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly to management. Assist with flatbed deliveries when required, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Valid commercial driving licence with a clean driving record. Strong mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform minor repairs if necessary. Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a warehouse setting. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and routes as needed.
