The Role



As a

Van Driver

at Clayton Glass, you will be essential in delivering our high-quality glass products safely and efficiently to clients and work sites. Your role will include driving, managing deliveries, and maintaining strong customer interactions, ensuring each delivery meets our high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:



Safe and Efficient Delivery

: Deliver and collect goods as instructed, ensuring timely, courteous interactions with clients and safe handling of glass products to prevent damage.

Accurate Documentation

: Verify that delivery documents, product details, and paperwork are accurate, ensuring each order reaches clients correctly and in good condition.

Vehicle Maintenance

: Perform routine daily and weekly checks on the vehicle, reporting any defects or maintenance needs to keep the van in safe working condition.

Regulatory Compliance

: Follow all driving and safety regulations, including the Drivers' Hours Regulations, to ensure legal compliance and safe operations.

Product Handling

: Handle heavy lifting tasks associated with loading and unloading glass products, taking care to secure items properly and prevent damage.

Essential Criteria:



Driving Licence

: A valid, clean driving licence, held for at least three years.

Experience

: Proven experience as a Van Driver or similar role: working knowledge of van-specific speed limits, proper loading and weight distribution, and compliance with driver's hours regulations

Strong Customer Service Skills

: Friendly, professional approach when interacting with clients.

Physical Capability

: Ability to handle heavy lifting safely.

Reliability

: Flexibility in working hours, with the ability to work various shifts when required.

Desirable (Non-Essential) Criteria:



Warehouse Experience

: Familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus.

Working Hours:



Guaranteed: 40 hours per week

Overtime: Earned for hours worked beyond the guaranteed 40 hours

Salary: 25,396.80
