Role Outline
The VAT Accountant will be part of Allegis Group's global shared service team and will support Allegis entities with VAT matters in the EMEA region. The role is primarily focused on managing compliance for 30 VAT registrations across 12 countries (Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK). Reporting to the Senior Indirect Tax Accountant, the VAT Accountant is responsible for VAT compliance and will assist with providing tax advice to the wider business on various business transactions and operations.
Qualifications:
Skills:
Degree in Taxation/Accounting
ATT/CTA is a plus with a proven track record in VAT
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant tax experience
Comprehensive knowledge of VAT
Proficient in Excel
Experience with VAT calculation and declaration systems
Experience with ERP systems (PeopleSoft and Vendor Management Systems)
Experience with Oracle Fusion (or similar cloud-based application)

Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
Manage indirect tax compliance, including VAT returns, EC sales list review, communications with tax authorities, and tracking VAT payments, refunds and deadlines.
Support the Senior Indirect Tax Accountant with VAT related queries from internal teams and customers
Perform SAO documentation and compliance
Implement and drive internal controls and efficiencies
Develop and deliver training to stakeholders across the finance, customer-facing, account payable, account receivable, and vendor onboarding teams.
Maintain compliance for VAT registrations, invoice & credit note requirements & design
Monitor tax legislation and impacts to the business
Audit transactions within EPR systems
* Assist with tax inspections, e-invoicing implementation and ERP system upgrade
