Vehicle Workshop Manager
Job Purpose
The British Motor Museum houses over 400 vehicles, dating from the 1890s to the present day. Each vehicle was either produced by, or developed in connection with, Britain's motor industry - making the Museum the largest collection of historic British cars in the world. Working as part of the Workshop Team, this rare opportunity involves assisting with a rolling programme of vehicle maintenance and conservation which encompasses veteran, vintage, post-war, classic and modern cars.
You will also be preparing and running vehicles for events, shows and exhibitions; working with the Curatorial Team to move vehicles into position around the Museum site and assisting colleagues in other teams to bring the collection to a wider and more diverse audience.
The Museum's vehicle workshop is unique in that visitors can view the ongoing work from an upstairs gallery. As well as a skilled mechanic, we're looking for someone who is eager to engage with our visitors and answers any questions they may have.
While the position is primarily based at the British Motor Museum, you may be required to travel to attend shows and events with the collection vehicles. This may involve occasional evening and weekend work - such as the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, amongst others.

Take responsibility for your own health, safety and welfare, ensuring compliance with Trust's Health and Safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work
Be responsible for your own behaviour and act in a manner that avoids and discourages any form of discrimination or harassment; to comply with the Trust's Equal Opportunities Policy
