Salary: 27,000



Hours: Initially, we are ideally looking for alternating weekly shifts of 9am-5pm and 11am-7pm, with a view to then move to a 4 day week of 9am-7pm once the next new member of the team is added. We are looking for 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am-1pm) with time back in the week. There will be no out-of-hours or bank holiday shifts.

Experience required: Previous VCA experience essential

We're Petals Vets, a proudly independent small animal practice in Surrey Quays, London, and we're looking for an experienced Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) / Patient Care Assistant (VCA) to join our growing team.

About the Clinic



You'll be working in a purpose-built, modern clinic, side by side with both practice directors, meaning your voice and ideas genuinely shape the way the practice grows.

Our brand-new facilities include:

Digital X-ray and ultrasound Spacious operating theatre Dedicated RVN consult room Separate cat ward In-house laboratory A comfortable staff welfare space

Your Role



This is a hands-on, varied role where you will be involved with all aspects of day-day running of the clinic. You'll be a key part of our friendly team, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience for both patients and clients.

Clinical duties include:

Assisting vets and nurses with various clinical procedures/tasks Preparing patients for theatre and assisting with monitoring during recovery Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout clinical areas Supporting inpatient care, patient handling, feeding, and general husbandry Stock control and assisting with equipment maintenance
While we have a dedicated client care team, there will be some requirement to assist with client care when needed.

Client care duties include:

Greeting clients and pets with warmth and professionalism Handling calls, booking appointments, and managing the diary Providing information on services, procedures, and pet care Processing payments and maintaining accurate records Collaborating closely with the whole team to ensure seamless service
