We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Clinical Pathologist to join our laboratory team. The successful applicant will be expected to provide a full clinical pathology service including examination and interpretation of cytology samples and interpretation of laboratory results. The role holder will also be expected to work closely with laboratory staff to optimise, develop and expand testing services.
The Diagnostic Laboratories are an ECVCP (European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology) accredited training laboratory, with a close-knit team encompassing expertise in haematology, biochemistry, microbiology and molecular diagnostics. The laboratories run diagnostic testing for Langford Vets farm, equine and small animal first opinion practices as well as for external veterinary clients. A significant part of the caseload comes from the small animal referral hospital, which is located on the same site. As a Clinical Pathologist working in the Diagnostic Laboratories, you will be an integral part of this wider team of clinical experts, working together to deliver exceptional clinical care.
Applicants must hold a specialist qualification in veterinary clinical pathology (Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology or the American College of Veterinary Pathology, or a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists), but board eligible clinical pathologists, and pathologists with other certifications and significant experience (at least 3 years) in diagnostic clinical pathology will also be considered. The successful candidate must also be a member of the RCVS, or eligible for RCVS membership with full working rights in the UK.
