We are a friendly, supportive small-animal veterinary practice looking for a welcoming and organised Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This position is to provide maternity cover, with the strong possibility of becoming a permanent role for the right person.
We provide both in-clinic care and home visits, making us a little different from your typical practice. This allows us to offer personalised care for our patients in the comfort of their own homes, while still providing comprehensive services at the clinic. As a receptionist, you will play a key role in coordinating both types of appointments and ensuring our clients and their pets have a smooth, positive experience.
As the first point of contact for clients, you will play an essential role in ensuring their experience with us is positive, calm, and professional. While you will be working in an environment with animals, this role is not hands-on with animals. Your focus will be on client care, organisation, and supporting the smooth running of the practice through administrative and general housekeeping tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Greeting clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism
Managing phone calls, appointment bookings, and email enquiries
Taking payments and maintaining accurate client records
Supporting the clinical team with a smooth daily workflow

Ensuring the reception area remains organised and presentable
About You
Friendly, approachable, and committed to excellent customer service
Strong communication and organisational skills
Able to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable being around animals, while understanding that this is not a hands-on animal care role
