Job Description

The Oxford Cat Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our friendly, feline-focused team. In this important front-of-house role, you'll be the first point of contact for clients and their beloved cats, providing exceptional service while ensuring the smooth running of our busy clinic.

We are currently hiring for an afternoon receptionist.

Shifts

Monday to Friday: 3:45pm - 7:00pm Plus 1 in 4 Saturdays: 9:00am - 2:00pm
Some flexibility may be available, but applicants must be able to work the core hours above and at least one Saturday in every four. Occasional cover at our Marston branch may be required during holidays or staff absences. NB Marston is not cat only

Key Responsibilities

Greet clients and their cats warmly, ensuring a calm and welcoming atmosphere Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently Answer phone and email enquiries regarding services, treatments, and general pet care Maintain accurate patient records and update client information as needed Process payments and manage billing enquiries with care and accuracy Support veterinary staff with occasional administrative or laboratory tasks Keep the reception area clean, organised, and fully stocked Handle client concerns with empathy and professionalism

Requirements

Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care environment is highly desirable Excellent organisation and multitasking skills in a busy environment Friendly and professional communication skills, both in person and over the phone Confident using computer systems for scheduling and record management A genuine passion for animal welfare and understanding of basic veterinary procedures A team player with a proactive, positive attitude and ability to work independently Reliability and punctuality, especially during peak afternoon hours

Important Information

This is a permanent part-time position.
Applicants seeking short-term or temporary work will not be suitable for this role.
Full training will be provided.
